Manchester City Vs West Ham Preview 10th may 2014

City Seems Set to Celebrate by Sweeping Away West Ham

Kick Off : Etihad Stadium ,11th May 15:00 BST

This is the match that all Liverpool fans will be watching with bated breath; cheering the Hammers and hoping for a miracle win from them. With 83 points in the kitty, a resounding mid-week 4-0 routing of Aston Villa and just 1 point needed to scale the summit; Pellegrini’s boys are within kissing distance of their second League trophy in three years. In contrast, the ho-hum West Ham is way behind at 12th place with 40 points. They have lost 4 out of their last 5 matches but they did thrash Tottenham Hotspurs 2-0 in their last outing on the field. Sam Allardyce has promised football fans a fight to the finish. And if by some miracle, Hammer do not ham it and go all out to defeat Man City, Allardyce and his boys will be Liverpool’s new best friends.

Man City only need to draw or win to hold aloft the trophy in front of their home crowd. For a team high on confidence, it should not be too difficult.
On the other hand, long ball play specialists West Ham have nothing to lose, so they may do the unexpected and score within the first 10 minutes to upset Man City’s apple cart. Man City will then have to stop playing for a draw and counter their set play, the Hammers’ point of strength. If the match goes 0-0, that too will suit West Ham. They will go for a set-play and if they can score, Man City will have much running to do.

Does the scenario seem likely? Methinks not. Man City have lost just one match to West Ham in their last 13 League matches. And they did rout West Ham 6-0 a few months back, and the Hammers must be hurting still.

Star Players to watch out for

For Man City, midfielder and ex-Barcelona star Yaya Toure has been going great guns, shooting 18 goals from the midfield position. Power strikers Edin Dzeko, Alvaro Negredo and Sergio Aguero will be other big boosters.
Andy carroll, ex-Liverpool player, is the big striker for West Ham. If he has a great outing, he will pay off his debts to his old team.

Injury and team news
Good news for Man City is that their star striker Aguero is back from his groin injury. He won his team their 2012 League title at the last minute and can be counted on.
West Ham likely to stick with the team that defeated Tottenham in their last match. Their on-loan striker Marco Borriello is still down with the calf injury that has been troubling him for past 5-6 months.

Final score prediction
Manchester City 2 , West Ham 0

If West Ham have a great day, it will be a match to watch. We are expecting a victory for Man City, but are also hoping to see West Ham spring a rabbit out of their hat.
