Liverpol Started the game knowing what they needed to do. The reds needed all 3 points to keep the pressure on Manchester City on sunday , where the two team play their final games of the season to decide the first and second place.
Keeping possession of the ball ,liverpool pushed ,and pushed until they were 1 goal ahead thanks to a Joe allen header form the corner kick. the first half ended in favor of liverpool , and red came out on the second half looking to get the second ,they got the second in the 52 minute ,when daniel Sturidge's curled shot deflected off a palace defender and found the back of the net. the young attacker Raheem Sterling assisted premier league top scorer Luis suarez for his 31st ,and liverpools 3rd in the match.
at 3 nil up liverpool got comfortable and did not stop pushing, they were looking to get more goals in and decrease manchester city's six goal advantage in the standings. Liverpool were so determined on cutting dow City;s goal advantage that they lost sight of the all important 3 points, you could see it , as they hardly celebrated the goals they scored.
Palace were not to be dismissed so easily in their final Home game,they started to pushed liverpool back ,and countered liverpool every attack. then came the 78th minute of the match ,that turned things around ,and put liverpool under pressure, Palace midfielder Delaney ,put his foot through the ball 30 yards in field, the ball took a deflection and found the back of the net. Palace 1 Liverpool 3 tony pulis brought on a second striker in dwight gayle , he had been on for less then a minute when he scored palace's second goal , form a counter attack saw all the liverpool players up field in the oppositions box. surely liverpool would not let in a 3rd? surely liverpool would try to hang on to the precious three points and just sit back and watch the time run out. but they didn't and they paid for it dearly ,when Dwight Gayle found the back of the net again 6 minutes after ,when a critical error form Liverpool defender Martin skrtel let the ball slip passed and onto the strikers feet. the score 3:3 and palace had scored 3 goals in 11 minutes. the game ended and Liverpool had learned a great lesson in the Laws of Soccer, its not over till its over.
